Waterborne acrylics are not recommended for fluid immersion but intermittent contact by aqueous fluids generally poses few problems. Constant contact with caustic or corrosive fluids needs to be considered as well.

Typical suitable substrates for coating include: steel, galvanized steel, aluminum, concrete or masonry, plastic and wood.
