Advantages of waterborne acrylic coatings

Waterborne acrylic coatings are a more environmental- and user-friendly alternative to solvent-based coatings, such as alkyds. Below are a few of the benefits and advantages to using waterborne acrylic coatings for industrial applications:

• Lower volatile organic content (VOC) - less impact on environment

• Low odor (especially important when painting interiors)

• Less concern over worker exposure to hazardous solvents
- Improved “cycle time” for various trades involved in a project

• Lower or no risk of fire from handling flammable solvents

• Easy and safer cleanup

• Less hazardous disposal

• More forgiving to surface moisture / content, e.g., when painting concrete

• Proven performance in real world applications
